This page lists every cookie Kaizen sets and what each one is for. Using the site means you're okay with these; there's nothing here beyond what's needed to make the site function.
What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to hold onto, so the site can recognize you (or your browser, technically) on your next visit. Some cookies disappear when you close your browser; others stick around for a set amount of time.
Cookies Kaizen sets
There are two, both essential to how the site works:

Keeps you logged in as you move between pages, and helps protect forms on the site from cross-site request forgery. This cookie only holds a random session id; who you actually are and your CSRF token are stored on our server, not inside the cookie. It expires after 7 days, or immediately when you log out. |
kz_guest |
A random, anonymous id set for visitors who aren't logged in, used only to count how many guests are browsing the site right now. It isn't tied to any account or used to track you across visits in any other way, and it expires after 30 days. |
We don't set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or anything that tracks you across other sites. We also don't use browser local storage to track visitors.
Cookies set by embedded content
A couple of pages can include content from other platforms, and those platforms may set their own cookies when that happens:

These are set directly by YouTube or Vimeo, not by us, only appear on pages that actually contain one of their embeds, and we have no access to read or control them. Check their own cookie policies if you want details on what they do with them.
Turning cookies off
Cookie controls live in your browser's settings, not on Kaizen. Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies on a per-site basis; search your browser's help pages for "cookies" if you're not sure where to look. Keep in mind that blocking kz.sid specifically will prevent you from staying logged in, since that's the only way the site has of remembering who you are between page loads.
